Description & Explanation: Same as 99234 (Admit and Discharge on the same calendar date), but for Moderate complexity cases.

• MDM: Moderate.

• Time: 70 minutes.

• Duration Rule: Stay must typically be > 8 hours.

Clinical Examples:

1. Chest Pain Rule Out: Patient admitted at 8 AM for chest pain. Serial troponins and stress test performed. All negative. Discharged at 8 PM.

2. Asthma Exacerbation: Patient admitted for aggressive nebulizer treatment and steroids. Clears significantly after 10 hours and discharged home.
